Happy Summer Day! ~ July club projects

This morning we woke up and the kids asked me how long until they went back to school. Much to my surprise we have only three short weeks left to enjoy our lazy summer days! In July my stamp clubs created some bright and colourful projects ... perfect for summer.

I recently made some changes to my stamp clubs and they were well received in July. In the past all of my groups were combo clubs. This meant that we alternated each month between doing a double 12x12 scrapbook layout and two cards. I had some feed back that many customers (I <3 feed back) were interested in full year card clubs. This prompted me to take a look at my format and switch things up a little bit. The result is now that I offer all clubs with a scrapbooking option. Each customer has the choice to create two cards or do a double 12x12 layout. Here is what we created in July ...

You can see that both project options are using the same tools, stamp sets, supplies and theme. Each month my groups have a technique focus. This month we played with head embossing. The magic of heat embossing is never lost! The wonder of  the powder transforming before your eyes is always exciting. It always brings out an audible "ohhhh"! I love it!! Here are the details.

Heat Embossing Tricks & Tips:

Stamping ~ Stamp your image with VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle Pewter Embossing Powder over the embossing powder. Use your Heat Tool to heat the image. Apply heat until the powder transforms from mat to a shinny finish.

Doilies ~ Coat Tea Lace Paper Doilies with VersaMark by pressing them into the ink pad directly. Sprinkle with Embossing Powder to cover (we used pewter). Use your Heat Tool to heat the image as note above. NOTE: Use a wooden skewer or a chop stick to hold the doily on your work surface to prevent holding in your hands and burning yourself.

Metal Brads ~ Coat your Antique Brads with VersaMark by pressing them into the ink pad directly. Add Embossing Powder and use your Heat Tool as noted above (we used pool party). NOTE: Hold the brad with tweezers or an old pair of inexpensive scissors while you are heating. Again, you do not want to burn yourself!

Priority registration will be open to existing club members in September and October and I will open to the public in November. Sad to say .. but this is just around the corner!!! Crazy right? I would love to have you join us! We have so much fun each year, make new friends and create awesome projects!

I will have further stamp club information as the fall approaches. I would love to hear from you if you are interested in details.

Thank-you for visiting my blog! Have a creative day!
