Last day of school treats

I literally just walked in the door from taking my 4 year old to her last day of pre-school. I bent down to look her in the eye and wish her the best fun on her last day but I could not get my words out. My throat closed and my eyes filled with tears. I was a mess! I am filled with emotion. My baby girl is growing ... moving onto a new school and Kindergarten. We will miss the amazing teacher we were blessed to have. We will miss our friends. But worst of all is that she just keeps growing up! sigh. I tell my kids often that they just need to stop growing and they need to stay little forever.

Saraya and I sat in my office this morning and made some little treats for her friends. It was so nice to do it together and watch her Stampin', just like mom. She says the same phrases as I ... like "we are flying now! momma" when we are snailing up a storm. She likes to sit right next to me so we are touching. And she says about a hundred times "these are beautiful!" Here is a peek:

It was a last minute idea at 8:30 this morning. Really a quick treat to put together. We ran to the grocery store and bought a box of ready made Rice Krispie treats. Saraya put a treat in a Medium Clear Envelope and sealed the top. I stapled on a Designer Series Paper banner and we snailed on the Sweet Summer greeting.

To make the Sweet Summer Greeting I hopped on MDS!!!! Using a combination of stamps and text (with of course coordinating colors to the DSP) we creating the super cute greeting.

MDS how to:
* For the layout I added the circle punch in MDS and re-sized it to 2 1/2" (the same size as our largest 2 1/2" hand held circle punch)
* I then added the greetings over the circle
* Next, copy it over and over on the 8 1/2x11 page
* Once the greetings were all spaced out to fit the 2 1/2" circle punch I went back and deleted the circle
* I printed the greetings on my home computer and used the  2 1/2" circle punch to cut them out! Quick and easy!

I will be creating a few more of these tonight with my 6 year old. Her last day is tomorrow and I can promise I will be just as emotional! After all, she is moving on to grade two!

I hope you are all enjoying the week and the excitement (and emotions) of the end of the school year and the beginning of Summer!

Thank-you for visiting my blog. Have a creative day!

Really Good Card

Happy first day of summer Dolce Stampers. We are a bit overcast and windy in Edmonton today. Not summer weather, this is for sure! Many areas in our province are being hit with severe weather and have declared states of emergency with mass evacuations. River water and floods are causing mass destruction. Our Stampin' Up! Canada home office is in Calgary as are many Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends of mine. I hope and pray that they are all safe and saved from the flood waters.

My card of the day is bright and cheery. I thought it was a good fit to wish some nice weather on our province. This is my June stamp club swap card ... A Really Good Card! (If I must say so myself) I am not just tooting my own horn though. The stamped greeting is from our new stamp set Really Good Greetings!

I think I teased on Facebook last week that I needed to step away from the paper doilies! I just can't seam to get enough of them. They always seam to be that little finishing touch that I tuck in here and there. And lets not even talk about my affection for the Designer buttons. sigh. <3

I would love your business!

I am one hard working Edmonton Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Over the years by business has grown and become something that I never thought possible. I consider myself very fortunate that I am able to do this for a living!

I am sooooooo close to earning a huge bonus for my performance (A Caribbean cruse!). In fact it will come down to a few thousand dollars. With just two weeks left for my sales period it is a Stampin' frenzy in our house!

It is bitter sweet. While I should be celebrating in the growth I have had this year (and my stellar sales reaching nearly $50,000) ... it is heart wrenching to think that it could slip through my fingers.

So if you like what you see on my blog or Facebook page, please click to see what our products are all about!

If you love what you see I would be more than happy to help you with your order!
You can also shop online 24/7 by clicking here

Want to attend a class to see the product in action?
Come to my free try it event on June 25, 2013 at
7:00pm in my studio in North Edmonton.

Know someone that would love Stampin' Up! products?
Please please please pass along my name.
A referral is the greatest form of flattery!

I am always grateful for my continued customer support. My business lets me provide for my family, lets me be creative, and has given me new friendships. But more importantly it gives me passion! I truly love paper crafting and being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I could go on and on! Ill save you the sappy but just want to again thank-you ALL for your love, support and business!!

Hoping you have a wonderful, creative day!

Hugs!
Krista

Feels Good Mosaic Card

Ekk! I am a wee bit behind on my posts! So sorry Stampin' Dolce friends! June is always an exciting month. I have three little ones so of course school is wrapping and up. June is all about field trips, fun days and school events. Not to mention camping, yard work, and birthday parties. This weekend I went to my friends bridal shower and bachelorette party. (Which then required a day of recovery on Sunday!!)

June 30th also marks the end of my Stampin' Up! year. I want to end my year with a bang and have a huge goal for June sales. I have scheduled my month with classes, parties and stamp clubs. It has been busy to say the least! Last week I did manage to get some stampin' time in. As a demonstrator I got to pre-order select product in May before the catalgoue went live. Last week I place my HUGE order for all the other must have new product! This is a card I whipped up with my pre-order product ...

Supplies:
Whisper White Card Stock
Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock

Basic Black Classic Ink Pad
Pool Party Classic Ink Pad
Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink Pad (new in color!)
Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad
Island Indigo Classic Ink Pad
Strawberry Slush Class Ink Pad (new in color!)

Crisp Cantaloupe Reinker
Stampin' Spritzer 126185 $3.95/ 2 empty bottles
70% Rubbing Alcohol (not sold by Stampin' Up!)

Rhinestone Basic Jewels 119246 $6.50/ 150

Feels Good Stamp Set
131916 $31.95 wood / 129684 $22.95 clear
Mosaic Madness Stamp Set
130246 $32.95 wood / 130249 $22.95 clear

Did you notice the Crisp Cantaloupe splatter on the card? In May we bid farewell to our color spritzer tool .. one of my all time favorite tools. Not to worry though! I have a solution!! I believe that cards need a little over spray for a finishing touch. To get the splatter effect that I used in this card I used our Stampin' Spritzer Bottles. You get two empty bottles for $3.95 (A super value!). Add a few drops of your favorite re-inker color to the empty bottle and top up with 70% rubbing alcohol. (yes, it has to be 70%). Give it a shake to mix. I did not spray the card with the Spritzer but rather opened the lid and flicked the pump straw over my card. Love it!!! <3

Hope you are loving the new Annual Catalogue. My pages are all flagged and marked and the edges are starting to get dog eared!

Thank-you for visiting my blog. Have a creative day!

Masking technique

I thought I would share a little technique! I did this card as a club swap in April. My stamp ladies marvelled over the technique I did greeting with. So here I am to share ....

The card ...
the close up ...
Masking Technique How to:

1.  To start, stamp the background
I used Crumb Cake classic ink and stamped En Francais on Crumb Cake card stock

2.  Then stamp your greeting
I used Early Espresso classic ink and stamped "This too shall pass"

3.  Next stamp the same "This too shall pass" greeting on a post-it note.
Quick tip ... stamp the greeting at the top of the post-it so that the "sticky" part is behind the image on the back of the post-it.

4.   Use paper snips and carefully cut out the greeting on the post-it note.

5.   Place the post-it note greeting over the stamped image on the card

6.  Ink a Stampin' Sponge in crumb cake and rub over the post-it note.
Quick tip ... I cut my sponges in quarters and staple a punched piece of card stock at the end. It gives me a "handle" and helps me keep my sponges organised.

7.  Peel off the post-it and reveal the greeting with a little pop!

Supply list:
Crumb Cake Card Stock 120953 $8.50
Early Espresso Card Stock 119686 $8.50
Crumb Cake Classic Ink 126975 $7.25
Early Espresso Classic Ink 126974 $7.25
En Francais Stamp Clear 127790  $16.95
    Wood 128562 $21.95
From the heart Stamp Set Clear 126557 $35.95
    Wood 132007 $48.95
Stampin Sponges 101610 $4.25 / 3 pack
Seam Binding Ribbon $9.50 ... the color I used is discontinued. But 6 great colors remain. Check out my online store!

Masking technique ideas are endless. I hope you have fun exploring masking.

What is Photopolymer?

Over the last couple months Stampin' Up! has been releasing Photopolymer stamp sets into our product line. Although these have not been published in our new 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalogue we still have them. And in fact released a new set this week!

Here is a look at the latest Photopolymer stamp set:

So what is photopolymer??....

I have added a menu tab on my website on the top right for a quick look at our Photopolymer selection. Click here to see the Photopolymer Stamp Sets that we offer. My Fav?? Bombs away. So fun and sassy!

A couple of quick tips when you are working with Photopolymer Stamps

     1.  Ensure your ink pads are re-inked and juicy for the best inked image.
(You can purchase re-inkers for all our Classic Stampin' Pads)

     2.  Stamp on a flat surface

     3.  Use our Stampin' Pierce Mat (126199 $5.50) under your cardstock
         for best results

What do you think? Are you loving photopolymer?
