We wrote out all the Valentines for the kids to take to school on Friday. If you have small children you know this is an exercise in patience. I did get smart last year though and ordered them all personalized stamps from Stampin' Up! so they can stamp their name.
The kids all wanted to exchange gifts so we all have bought valentines for everyone in our family. We still need to find some time to wrap those. Of course I volunteered to take cookies to the school Friday. Well, I can always bake on Thursday night when the kids go to bed, right?! (Or run to the bakery!!) I told you we needed more hours in the day!
Thankfully my stamp clubs created a "love" card this month - this will be Arturo's valentine from me! (Sorry Honey if you are reading this!)

"S" wrote out each friends name with love and care. She thought it was super cool to stamp her name. |

Technique Focus:
DIY Faux Chalkboard & Ink splatter
You will need:

~ 70% Rubbing Alcohol (from your local drug store)
~ An empty small container
~ A small paint brush (from the dollar store)
~ A small paint brush (from the dollar store)
step by step:
~ Cut your Basic Black Card stock to your desired size
(I used a 4" x 5 1/4" piece matted on my card)
~ Ink your Stampin' Sponge on your White Craft Ink Stamp Pad
(Just a wee bit of ink - not too much!)
(Just a wee bit of ink - not too much!)
~ Gently rub over your card stock ... gentle is the key!
~ Allow to dry (or heat set with your heat tool, this ink is tacky to the touch and can smear or leave finger prints)
~ In your empty small container, add a small amount of Whisper White Craft Ink Refill
~ Poor in a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol to mix with the Craft Ink. You want just enough to thin the craft ink. If you over dilute it the white splatter marks will not show. You can always add more ink refill if you do.
~ Stir with your paint brush
~ Flick the paint brush loaded with the ink and alcohol mix on your page
