Construction Theme Birthday Party

In October ... yes, October ... our son turned 3. I am finally getting the party on my blog! Where does time go, right?

"A" is obsessed with construction and construction trucks. There was no hesitation when picking his party theme ... it had to be all about construction. In the fall Stampin' Up! released the Bday Under Construction download for MDS (My Digital Studio). If that is not meant to be I do not know what is! Here is a look at what the download included:

$19.95     133422

Can you believe that for $19.95 you get all of this digital content with this download? With the click of my mouse my party planning was nearly complete! I ordered the invites, decor printables and favor tags with Stampin' Up!'s print services. They came to my door in a couple of weeks.

You can print MDS projects on your home computer but that would have taken a LOT of ink ... and those darn little ink cartridges can get costly. Take a peek at Stampin' Up! print pricing details here.

When they arrived in the mail all I had to do was cut out the pieces and do a little embellishing. Here is a look at the party and how it came together!

an October construction party meant that all the Halloween candy fit the theme perfectly!

I went to Tim Horton's and ordered Halloween donuts for the display.
The seasonal sprinkles matched perfect!

The easiest birthday cake ever! I just made a three tier chocolate cake.
Ripped a chunk off the corner, dirty iced it with chocolate butter cream
and filled the excavation site with Oreo cookie crumbs.

Every construction truck we had in our collection was used for the decor.
I found these rock Jelly Beans at the candy store.

Construction hats for all the kids from the Party Store.
Here is "A" with his best buddy.
This banner was created with the MDS printables. They came a few on a sheet.
I cut them out with my Stampin' trimmer and added Bakers twine on the back with a
hot glue gun.

The drink station buckets had construction signage.
Again another MDS printable that I simply cut out and fastened to the buckets.
A birthday party is not complete with out a treat bag! The bag toppers came in the MDS kit.
The intent was to wrap them around a chocolate bar.
I simply cut them out and stapled them to a bag from the Party Store.

In the treat bag we had a tape measure and some goodies.
These are Bubble Gum by the Foot. (Thank-you Pinterest for the idea!)
I created the label with MDS. This was not in the kit. I did this one!
The skid steer was in the download and I used it on my design.
Added some text and printed them.
It was a great day! "A" still talks about it all the time. I am so blessed to have three amazing children. I love to celebrate each year. It truly is a gift. They just grow too fast.

Thanks for reading! If you love party planning I have another party blog coming soon! "J" turned 7 in October too ... you do not want miss her colorful fun decor ideas!

Have a creative day!
