Autumn Mason Jar - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to the Thursday Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!

When I create a new project I instantly turn into a 5 year old girl. I am bubbling with anticipation for Arturo to come home from work so that I can show him! The minute he gets in the door I make him come down to my craft room to "see what I did today". He is a great sport. He always takes the time to look and offers positive comments like "I like that color" or "That embossing is cool".

When I created this weeks Artisan Design team project I did not get the reaction I was hoping for! The nerve of him, right?! First ... you need to see what I did and form your own opinion.

Autumn Mason Jar
Okay - so that may have been a tad dramatic. Beautiful, right? Well that was not the issue. It just made for good television. Arturo, in his design expertise (insert eye roll here), felt like this was not, in fact, an Autumn Mason Jar. He felt that it was a Christmas Jar!! gasp!

So you, my friends, are now our marriage counselors. Autumn or Christmas?

A Tea Lace Paper Doily was placed over the Mason Jar Lid. I tied a double strand of Linen Thread around the lid and tied with a bow. Doesn't this remind you of the fabric tops your grandma used to put on home made jams and pickles?
The Mason Jar belly band was created with the Motley Monster Designer Series Paper. I used Sticky Strip to secure to the jar.
My favorite detail on this Mason Jar is the hanging silver leaves. I used the Big Shot and the Fun Fall Framelit Die to cut out the four sizes of leaves in both Silver Glimmer Paper and Silver Foil Sheets. I sandwiched the Linen Thread between two leaves at random locations and hung them from the Mason Jar lid. There are actually three strings of these hanging here.

Comment your vote below! You will have to tune in next week for the official ruling and my explanation of why I think it is a perfect fall piece.

Until then check out Lisa Harlow. She is next up on the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. Lets hope that her project does not have her marriage on the line.

Have a creative day!
