Mother's Love cards & scrapbook layouts - Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to April and another month of the weekly Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! During April the Artisan Design Team will be trying something new! Each month we all get the same box of product and are welcome to do whatever our little hearts desire. This month we are shaking it up a bit! We will all be sharing projects each week using the same key item.

To start the month, this week we all will be using the stamp set Mother's Love.

I think I got lucky with this one! It is so my style and I love it! I had no problem creating for you today. In fact I have five amazing things to share ... two scrapbook layouts and three cards! Hang on to your seats!

Lets start with the cards!

This card kept me up at night, literally! I loved the dandelion stamp that comes in the set but they were too straight (for me). Take a peek (top left) ...
I was struggling to stamp with it. Until last night, laying in bed. I had a light bulb moment - You can curve photopolymer stamps on your glass blocks! Ta-da! The Dandelions now have movement and elegance! Just what I was looking for!

I stamped the flowers in the background on Crumb Cake Cardstock in Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink. This is a two step stamp set ... one stamp will stamp your base image and a second stamp will stamp the overlaying image. I decided to only use the base image for my flowers. I then colored them in with a blender pen dipped in my classic ink pads. It gave a soft watercolor style to this card that I love!

The background Crumb Cake Cardstock is white washed with Whisper White Craft Ink and a Stampin' Sponge. I splattered the card and greeting with Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker. I flick the thick marker tip end on the inside of the marker cap. I have always loved splatter!

Next up are my scrapbook layouts. You will notice a lot of similarities in the 12x12 scrapbook layouts from the cards. This is because my monthly stamp clubs will be creating these projects in April! My stamp clubs are a mix of card makers and scrapbookers. They get to choose which types of projects they make and it keeps everyone happy!

I used the tag a bag gift bags to create a journaling pocket on this scrapbook layout. It slides out of the top so that you can still slide it out and read it when it is in the page proctor in your album (You're welcome).

Up next on the hop is the talented Lisa Harlow
