Birthday Wishes Card - TGIFC40

Today I am stamping for the TGIF Challenges design team. This talented team will share projects to inspire you to take the sketch challenge each week. (You will want to stamp along and not miss the fun!). The last week of each month is the remix challenge ... that means mash up two sketches from the month into one project.

I picked TGIFC37 & TGIFC39 to remix together
and this is what I create for you ...

Silver splatter is made easy with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. Stamp it with VersaMark Ink and emboss it with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and your Heat Tool. I love the effect that it creates here.

Don't forget your card inside. Here is a quick tip to get a light background that you can still write over top of.

Which two challenge sketches were your favorite this month? Get stamping this week and share your project at TGIF Challenges

Click over to TGIF and see what the rest of the design team has create. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and see entries from Stampers all week long!

Thank-you for reading! Have a creative day!

A new watercolor technique ~ You be the judge - GDP020

Hello everyone! We spent the weekend at our cabin and had the most amazing time. The weather was beautiful - well, Canadian winter beautiful. It was just above freezing and the sun was shinning. We went skating on the lake ... just the five of us. It was the first time Saraya was on skates and she picked it up in about five minutes. We spent hours out there skating and playing hockey. The kids even made us go for one more hour of skating Sunday before we hit the highway to come home.

Today I am designing for the Global Design Team. You can find my creations, right here, each Monday. This week my project is inspired from this challenge - CASE the Designer, Connie Collins.

I am on 3 design teams with the amazing Connie Collins ... the 2015-2016 Artisan Design Team, the Global Design Project and the Fancy Friday Blog Hop! She is one SUPER talented stamper!

My card was inspired by Connie's layout for the challenge sketch. I was in the mood for some watercolor so I switched up the stripe background for this pink beauty.

Did I invent a new Technique!? You be the judge!

Pinterest told me that you can create watercolor techniques by adding things to the wash when it is wet. (This was discovered and Pinned late at night, in bed). When I was crafting I was too lazy to look up what exactly I should be sprinkling on so I went to my studio coffee bar and looked for something to play with.

I found Splenda - yes, Splenda the sugar free sweetener for your coffee. I tossed it on the wet watercolor. It was a hot mess. With nothing to loose I tapped a lot off into the garbage can and decided to hit it with the heat tool to see what would happen. It melted and looked kind of cool on the watercolor card! It is a splotchy embossed look! Sooo - hit or miss? What do you think?

Click over the the Global Design Project. You will want to see what the rest of the design team has created to inspire you this week. Scroll down to the bottom of the post to see all of the entries from stampers around the world. We would love to have you join the challenge and play along!

Thank-you for reading! Have an amazing week friends!

Punch Bug Love - GDP019

I could not love this little punch buggy more! Do you the Volkswagon Beetle as punch buggy? That goes back to my childhood ... the tradition of punching someone when you see one. When I was writing this post I remembered when Volkswagon introduced the New Beetle and it seamed like there were Beetles everywhere. I would have guessed that this was just a few years ago but google told me that was in 1998!!!!!! Can you believe that?!?!?!

Today I am designing for the Global Design Project and I set out today to create a "love" inspired card for the design challenge this week.

As a part of the Global Design Project team I create each project each Monday to inspire you to take the challenge and play along. Click on over to the Global Design Project to see the challenge details, see what the rest of the design team has created and see what other crafters have been submitting!

Thank you for visiting! Have a creative day!

Birthday Humor - #TGIFC38

Calling all animal lovers!!!! Do we have the challenge for you!

The Frattin house hold is pet free. I have allergies to fur babies and that has prevented us from taking the leap to being fur parents. I would love to have a snugly cat or puppy, and I know many of you are going to tell me about hypoallergenic animals, but Arturo is allergic to cleaning up after a pet. He has made it clear that if anything walks in here on four legs it is my responsibility! lol

I was certain that their was not an animal stamp in my collection and I was pumped to discover this one! I love the sassy greeting on this card! The set comes with four images - all of them are fun and cheeky!
Giggle Greetings Stamp Set
131062 Wood mount $28 | 131065 Clear mount $21
If you are in the Edmonton area you will know that we are settling in for a cold winter weekend. This is the perfect weather to stamp! Take the TGIF Challenge and play along! Stamp. Photograph. Share. It is that simple! Anyone can play along - visit the TGIF site for all of the details.

Happy Friday everyone!
