Not my best card - GDP025

One of my favorite color combos - Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate & Basic Grey. I have created with this scheme many times before and I was very excited to see that it is the color challenge sketch for the Global Design Project this week!!

Even with this being an awesome color combo, I feel that my project today fell flat. I just am not feeling my card! It's cute, I just don't love it and I am not sure why.

I decided to share this card today to inspire you. I know someone out there is going to comment that they love it (well that is my hope to prove my argument!). We are always our worst critics and are often too hard on ourselves. I hear customers complain that when they set out to create something, they will sit and stare at a project forever trying to get it to come together.

Creating is therapy and a stress release. If you are getting frustrated with something move on! You can call it complete as it is or you can come back to it later. I called this one complete and am being brave enough to post it here!

Speaking of brave ... will you take the Global Design Project challenge this week? Click over to read about the challenge details. You will see the design teams projects and the followers submissions. That is a lot of inspiration in one place!

I will have a big week coming up on the blog. Visit:
March 1st for an International blog hop featuring spring catalogue projects.
March 2nd I will have the latest Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop.
March 4th's post will be celebrating International Scrapbooking day and I will have my weekly TGIF post!
Phew! I had better get stamping! Have a creative day!

Take out gift box - #TGIFC44

It is safe to say that I am always creating. I have many projects made that do not even make it to the blog. My project today was created before Christmas but has never been shared on the blog. I have it in a special rainy day folder. When the #TGIFC44 remix sketch came up I thought it fit perfectly!

I remixed challenge sketch #TGIFC42 & #TGIFC43.

I need to ask for forgiveness with one small detail ... when I was writing this post I realized that the white glitter ribbon on the box was from the Stampin' Up! Winter collection and is no longer available! Gasp! I guess I really should get my projects on the blog quicker!

The TGIF Design Team have welcomed a couple of amazing new stampers. Click on over and see what the design team has create this week for the remix challenge. All week long followers will be creating and sharing their remix projects, just scroll to the bottom of the post to see them all.

Have a wonderful weekend my friends. The forecast is warm and sunny in Edmonton so I am planning on getting outside with my family for some fun. Maybe I will even take down the outdoor Christmas decorations!

My least used colors - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the February Fancy Friday Blog Hop! This month the Fancy Friday Design team is sharing projects using our least used Stampin' Up! colors. Yikes, right?! They are our least used colors for some reason or another. Time to put on my big girl panties and create!
There are a few colors that I do not gravitate toward but I instantly knew that it had to be an orange. (Sorry orange lovers!).

Love this belly band on my treat bag!! I cut a strip of cardstock to 2" and used my ORNATE TAG TOPPER PUNCH on each end. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the bag and through the belly band holes to tie a knot on each side.

I added store bought bag filler to the treat bag and I wanted to keep the candies contained so I put them inside a 4x6 CELLOPHANE BAG (Yes Stampin' Up! sells these!). I closed the bag with a little WASHI TAPE.

I can not believe that I have waited so long to play with the new BOTANICAL BUILDERS FAMELIT DIES! These flowers pop off the treat bag and are quick to create with the BIG SHOT! There are 14 stunning dies in this set, 5 leaves and 9 flowers. I know you will see more projects here on the blog using them, you will have to keep coming back to visit.

So now you have to tell me what colors are your least used in your Stampin' collection. Comment below! I would love to hear from you!

Next on the Fancy Friday Blog Hop is Marisa Gunn.
Join the Fancy Friday Design Team March 18th for our next hop. You will love what we cook up to share with you! Have a creative day!

Watercolor & Butterflies - GDP024

Can you believe that it is the last week of February? I think that calls for a project with soft spring colors, butterflies and a little watercolor!

Today, and every Monday, I design for the Global Design Project. My job (can I even call it that) is to stamp a project, based on the weekly sketch. I am not "playing" along with the challenge, that is your job! I am simply here to share and inspire you to get stamping!

This week the challenge is "Case the Designer".
The talented Michelle Last is from the UK and has an elegant Stampin' Style. I can just picture her stamping and sipping tea with her adorable accent! I have been a long time follower of Michelle's and that makes it intimidating to create a card emulating her! Eek!

Bountiful Boarder Card - #TGIFC43

I created this card before Christmas and have been waiting to share it with all of you. As a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team I was asked by Stampin' Up! to create some samples with the Bountiful Boarders stamp set and this happens to be just one them.

I thought this card was the perfect fit for the TGIF Challenge #TGIFC43.

All about the balloons - GDP023

Today is Family Day holiday Monday in Alberta, Canada. We celebrate this holiday on the second Monday of February each year. The weather is almost always beautiful winter weather and the prefect time to enjoy the great outdoors as a family. Two more reasons why we live in the greatest country in the world!

Each Monday I design for the Global Design Project. Today's balloon card is inspired by this weeks challenge ...

The balloon trend is hot right now in paper crafting. Stampin' Up! has a number of stamps and coordinating tools to add balloons to your projects. In fact, a new balloon stamp set will be available for you tomorrow, February 15th. (More on that later). First, my card:

This stamp set is BALLOON CELEBRATION. It has a coordinating punch and you can purchase the pair bundled for a 15% discount! I love this stamp set so much. In fact, I think I have used this set on my last four blog post projects! Take a click back through the blog for inspiration!!

The dotted frame of my card was stamped using the SUNBURST SAYINGS. I free handed the sketchy lines around with a BLACK STAMPIN' WRITE MARKER.

I can't get enough Dandelions - #TGIFC42

Lets chat about dandelions. So picturesque ... I can just see the field of green grass, the sun shinning, the dandelion fluff blowing in the warm breeze. This stamp is so soft and beautiful! I am loving this design trend and it is no wonder I want to stamp with these during the long Canadian winter.

But wait ... now I envision a teeny weeny tiny red devil floating above my shoulder. He giggles an evil giggle and pops this picturesque dandelion vision of mine with his pitch fork and I wake from my snow induced coma. Back in reality (and up to my ankles in 12" of fresh fallen snow), I remember that dandelions are devils themselves. They grow and spread like weeds because they ARE weeds. They destroy my lawn, hurt my bare feet and wreak havoc on my allergies! Damn dandelions!! They sure are cute to stamp with though - don't you think?

Today I am designing for the TGIF Challenges. This week, #TGIFC42, is a layout challenge. When I saw this I instantly thought to create a "Z-fold" card.

I have created a card with this fold before. It was ages ago on the blog. (Click here to see that post). It is cool to see how much I have grown as a blogger since then.

Fold your card base (4-1/4" x 11") in half. Fold the card front back toward the center fold line to create the Z-fold. Easy as pie!

If you are a regular follower (thank-you), you may know that I blogged a card on Monday with a dandelion. If you are a die hard Stampin' Dolce follower (and who isn't), you may have noted that I blogged a fun fold card as well. Either I was in a creative mood or a rut ... you be the judge.

Click over to the TGIF site all week long to see what TGIF followers are creating and sharing. Take the TGIF challenge this week and share your project while you are there! I would love to see what you do!

Thank-you for visiting! Have a creative day!
