A flirty flamingo Christmas - #GDP217

Happy Monday everyone! It is a new week and a new Global Design Project Challenge!

If you are a regular around here, you will know how much I love a color challenge! Sometimes, thinking of the color combo to use if the hardest part of creating!

Last week I hosted a Christmas card buffet class and this card was a hit! My customers loved the addition of the Flirty Flamingo color to the Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! has had pine cone and bough stamp sets or dies in the past but I will tell you that this one is ah-mazing! I resisted purchasing Peaceful Boughs bundle at first, but when I started to see all of the magic that crafters were creating with this on Pinterest and Instagram, I just had to have it! (I am sure you have all been there!)

dolce details

  • This die set come with two pine cone sizes, here I have used the small pine cone.
    • Cut your solid small pine cone with Crumb Cake Cardstock
    • Cut your detailed die pine cone with Crumb Cake Cardstock
    • Use a Glue Dot at the top to adhesive the two pine cones together
    • Conceal your Glue Dot with a Linen Thread bow
  • The boughs in this stamp set and dies do not match, meaning that that they are not intended to be stamped then cut out with the die. This allows you to layer the stamped images and the dies separately for some awesome layers and texture!
    • Here, I have cut out the 3 branch bough with Sparkle Glimmer Paper
  • Lets talk about the Sparkle Glimmer Paper ... About a year ago Stampin' Up! changed the Glimmer Paper, here are the features of our new paper:
    • Easier die cutting - the old paper had a waxy coating on the backside. This was difficult to cut out with a Die Cutting Machine. The new Glimmer Paper has a paper backing that allows you to cut out your shapes with as little as one pass through your Die Cutting Machine
    • Accepts adhesive - that old waxy finish meant that it was a bugger to get adhesive to stick to it. The new paper backing allows adhesives to bond every time.
    • Sparkle no more - the old paper left you with glitter everywhere! This paper keeps the glitter on the paper (and off of your face, hands, hairline, etc.)
