Cherished Memories Scrapbook layout - Artisan design team blog hop

Welcome back to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!

As I write this post it is 15 days until Christmas. My stomach dropped a bit this morning when I heard the count on the radio. 15 days. I am not anywhere close to organized for the holidays. Even worse was that I had this blog post to do and absolutely no idea what to create! Yes, that was just this morning!

Don't worry, I rocked it out! But you will have to forgive the simplicity of this post & project. I am sure you understand! Tis the season to be ______, well you fill in the blank!

On the merry & bright side, I did get a great scrapbook page done. Just one page. It did not take long and I created it just for me. When is the last time you did that? Especially during the holidays?

This past weekend we had an extended family Christmas dinner with my Maternal Grandfather. We always celebrate at the Petroleum Club in Edmonton with dinner, Santa and an annual visit. This year was the last Christmas at the club as it will soon be closing.

For some reason my Mom & I took a spontaneous picture with my Grandpa. I am not sure if we have ever done that. Usually we take pictures of the kids and candid's of people celebrating. I am glad we stopped to grab each other for the shot. My grandpa is in his 80's and this visit is often the only one in the year. Terrible, I know! He winter's in Arizona. The other six months I am not sure what always happens. We chat on the phone and always promise to have a date but life gets too busy.

I love to journal on my scrapbook pages but I do not always like them to be the center of attention. Here I used a Soft Sky Stampin' Write marker to journal. I find that it is subtle but still tells the story. Of course who does not love matchy-matchy.
To frame the photograph I used the Letterpress Winter Stamp in Soft Sky.
A touch of Pear Pizzazz was added with an aqua painter for the trendy watercolor look.

It is hard to tell from the photographs but the Joy was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
The circled around the date was stamped with the Project Life December Wonder Stamp Set.
The photo size I used was 4x6. The rectangular stamp from the Letterpress Winter Stamp Set measured out perfectly for a decorative photo mat.
With the stress of the holidays I must say that it was very therapeutic and rewarding to create a layout just for me. It took my under an hour. Not a huge scrafice, right? I would play Candy Crush for an hour before bed! Or surf Pinterest. So why not do something I love for that hour!

That hour would be well spent following this blog hop!

I hope you can find an hour this week to do something you love! Have a creative day!
