watercolor pines - TGIFC82

TGIF!! I hope that you are all having a wonderful Friday! I have my Winter Stampin' Retreat on Saturday coming up and I am so excited for a day of stamping and visiting with my customers.

The TGIF82 challenge today is a sketch challenge. In Canada we have settled into winter and Autumn and Thanksgiving have long passed. I took a spin on this challenge to make it more Canadian.

I took the leaves and acorns from the sketch and changed them to pines and pine-cones ... see what I did there! I thought it was brilliant, of course.

The card greeting is subtle and frosty. I watercolored my background and allowed it to dry completely. Then I stamped the greeting with White Craft Ink and heat set it with White Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.

Visit TGIF to learn about how you can join the challenge.

Are you in the Autumn mood where you live? Or are you into the Winter season already? I know my down under friends are welcoming Spring ... which I still can not get my head around!

Have a creative day everyone!

scrumptious ombre gift box- TGIFC78

Ever have those moments that think that you have it all together. Even have a little show-offy strut of confidence?! That was so me after I whipped up this gift box in about 15 minutes flat (strut and all). Then I sat down to write my post today, realizing that the TGIF Challenge was not just a candy challenge (as I thought), it is a Halloween candy challenge. *Palm to forehead.

I am sharing anyway cause I know you are gonna looooove it!

Visit the TGIF Challenges this week! You will find candy inspired projects from the design team and from challengers around the world. You are always invited to stamp along and share your creation too!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Acorny Hello - TGIFC76

Do acorns grow where you are from? I just adore them and I am sure that we do not have them here in Edmonton. Pine-cones ... yes, those are everywhere. I am sure that we do not have acorns laying around anywhere here (chime in if you are from Edmonton and know differently). It is not fair, I just want a little bowl full of them on my table at this time of year.

Today I am stamping with the TGIF Challenges design team for this weeks color challenge TGFIC76.

I like how the color combo worked for this card. At this time of year I use a lot of Kraft Cardstock. I think that it paired perfectly with Tangerine Tango, a color that I must admit, I rarely use. I splattered the card with Gold Wink of Stella.

After I completed this card inside I thought that it could even make a cute card all on its own! Nice and simple.

Have a creative weekend!

autumn leaves - TGIFC75

Happy Friday everyone! Today I am designing for the TGIF Challenge. The challenge today is to pick your favorite designer, challenger or winner from the September challenges and create something that was inspired by them.

Last week, Sara Nell Langland created a cute autumn card with colorful leaves and stitching for TGIFC74. I was inspired to create my version of her card ...

Did you have a card that you loved this month? Create and share with the TGIF Challenge! Everyone is welcome to play along!

Have a creative day!

Creating with scrap pieces of paper - TGIFC73

Hi everyone! Happy Friday to you! This was the first full week of school for us and it sure felt like a loooooong week. I am looking forward to the weekend for some downtime.

With the kids at school, I have had my days open to create and catch up with my business. It feels amazing! After the week of stamping, I had a pile of scrap bits of paper laying in a pile beside my Big Shot and Stampin' Trimmer. (I have to admit this is one of my worst bad crafting habits. The scrap pile is huge and never organized). Anyway, the TGIF Challenge TGIFC73 was the perfect use for all of these scraps.

I used this color combo on the blog Monday. The word "love" was the negative left over from the card. How many times do you throw these away? And they could have made a cute card!

I gently sponged around the word "love" to give some texture. The card came together very quickly and was the prefect use for all of those bits of paper.

I am excited to see what this challenge brings. The TGIF Design Team is sharing project ideas on the TGIF Blog ... click over to be inspired to use your negative scraps.

You are invited to play along and share your creations with #TGIFC73. Read more over at TGIF.

Have a great weekend everyone and I will see you on Monday!
