Love at First Sight Cards - Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Happy New Year and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! This talented team is comprised of 20 amazing designers from around the world. We will be blogging every second Thursday all year long.

Today I wanted to share a few Valentine-ish cards for you using the new First Sight Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

This is a non-traditional take on a Valentine card but I thought it was the perfect masculine design for my Husband. To create the background of this card I used a Classic Stampin' Pad and gentle dragged it across my cardstock.

Valentines are not just for lovers (I hate the word "lovers". It sounds so creepy. Shiver).  Anyway, I love to give a card to some of my besties to tell them how much I love them too.

Do you love the little bird? I stamped him in Tip Top Taupe Classic ink and then painted over top of him with the new Gold Wink of Stella Pen (available for purchase at my Canadian online store January 5, 2016).

One more project ... I was loving this technique and I wanted to create a little box for a few chocolates. It is hard just after Christmas to think about putting another chocolate in my mouth, buuut give it a month and I will be stuffing it in my face at Valentines day (and I wonder why my jeans don't fit).

Next on the blog hop is Marisa Gunn.

Thank-you for visiting! Have a great start to the New Year!

12 days of Christmas - Day 12 - Merry Box Wrapping

Way late with the final day of the 12 days of Christmas. BUT - have you been following the blog? I have done some awesome projects for a few design teams I am on. Click back through the posts ... you will love em!

Today is December 22. It is only two days until Christmas!!!! Today I wanted to share a special gift wrap idea with you. This is over the top and totally gorgeous. Are you ready?

I busted out the sewing machine to sew the "Merry" onto a Silver Foil banner. The black thread helps to break up the layers of silver that I used.

The belly band on the box is the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper. I am so in love with this paper and am heart broken that it will retire on January 4th. If you love it too you need to order it now so that you do not miss out!

This box required two strips of Designer Series Paper to wrap around. I cut them both to 3" wide and used Fast Fuse Adhesive to fasten the edges together. I did not adhesive the belly band to the box. I wanted it to slip off so that it was not ruined. This way the box and belly band can be re-used.

That is the 2015 Stampin' Dolce 12 days of Christmas!! Thank you for following along. I have had loads of entries for the blog candy give aways but it is not too late to enter. Contest will close at 11:50 pm on December 24, 2015.

Winners will be announced on December 26, 2016 on the Stampin' Dolce blog and on social media. Here is one last peek at the give aways:

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Champagne Balloons - #GDP016

Confession time! I am totally Christmas'ed out when it comes to stamping. I have received new Stampin' supplies from the catalogue that will come to you January 5th, 2016. I decided that this week for the Global Design Project I would stamp a fresh non-Christmas card!

The challenge this week is to case the designer Bibi Cameron. Do you follow her? She from the UK and is so very talented. I love her work!

I have to say that this card was difficult to photograph! I hope that these close ups do it justice!

I stamped the white clouds and the greeting on a Window Sheet with StazOn Ink. Did you know that Stampin' Up! has WHITE StazOn?! Well it is true. These clouds look soft and floating on the window sheet and I must say that I love it!!!

The background was sponged with Soft Sky Ink. I stamped the balloons and Silver Embossed a few of them. The background balloons that do not have an embossed detail are stamped with Smoky Slate.

It looks like a shaker card but I wanted control over the sequins locations. Rather than letting the sequins shake around in the card, I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to put them in place. (Don't tell my therapist. We have been working on my "need to control" issues).

You have to see what the rest of the talented design team has created this week for this challenge. Click on over the the Global Design Project site to see the design teams inspirational projects and to learn about the challenge details. We would love it if you played along this week!

There will not be a design sketch next week as the team is taking a week off for Christmas. I thank-you for following my blog and the Global Design Project this year. Be sure to come back Mondays in 2016 for more great projects and challenges!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
