Project Life Seasonal Snap Shot - Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

October has to be one of my favorite months of the year. I love the colors, the crisp air, the pumpkin spice, the sweaters, the boots. Over the years October has become a very sentimental month ...

I met my Husband in October of 1998.
We took possession of our first home in October (16 years ago!).
Two of my children are born in October.
We took possession of our cabin last October.

I can not believe it has been a year since we purchased the cabin! We have made so many memories there over the last 12 months. This past weekend we enjoyed the great outdoors and took a nature walk with the kids. The pictures do not do the breath taking colors any justice.

The Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Collection from Stampin' Up! was perfect to preserve the memories from our weekend. I love that the kit includes cards for the entire season ... back to school, autumn, thanksgiving, winter and Christmas.

I printed my photos at 4"x4" at London Drugs here in Edmonton. I have to admit that I do not print photos very often. Usually when I am scrapbooking I am rushing to do a layout for a class or a blog post and I print them on my home printer. This takes way to much ink and time. I think I need to make a resolution to print my photos ... maybe I will set an alarm in my iphone to remind myself to print them at the end of each month.

I do wish that I had printed some photographs at 4"x6" ... as I get better at doing Project Life layouts I think I will be able to pick a few images at the larger size when I am printing. With online printing it is just a click of a mouse, I just need to take a minute to pick my faves!

For the layouts I used the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Bundle! At a 15% savings you receive the Project life Card Collection, the Accessory Pack and the Seasonal Snap Shot Photopolymer stamp set!
140308  $47.25 CAD
I always buy the Accessory Packs for my Project Life Card Collections (How can you not? They are so cute!). The Seasonal Snapshot accessory pack is huge! I wanted to keep all of the bits together so I used a empty Stampin' Up! Wide Stamp Case to store them (Did you know you can buy new empty cases?). The Card Collections come with two stickers to label the outside of the card box. I used one of these sticker to label my case with the coordinating accessories!

I hope that I have inspired you to do some memory keeping with Project Life. I know we all have those photos on our phone and computers. I challenge you to print them each month! Do you think if we check in with each other we will keep it up?!

Next on the blog hop is the talented Mercedes Weber. Visit Mercedes blog to see what she has created for us using these Project Life products!

Hooray watercolor back ground card - #TGIFC22

Are you ready for the TGIF Remix week? The challenge this week is to take two challenge sketches from the month and mash them together to create a project. Here are the challenges from September ...

I created a birthday card using the color sketch #TGIFC19 and the birthday sketch #TGIFC21

The greeting is a Project Life card from the Moments Like These Card Collection. This card collection happens to be the same color combination from #TGIFC19! I trimmed down the 3x4 card to have the "Hooray for Today".

I used Black Reinker and an Aquapainter to watercolor the grid pattern on the front and inside of the card. You might want to practice on a scratch piece of paper. I painted the lines free hand. It does not have to be perfect ... that is the nature of water-coloring!

Are you up for the challenge? Join the fun by checking out the TGIF challenges site and the details. This challenge is open to everyone! Get creating, snap a pic and post with the #TGIFC22!!

Thank-you for visiting!

Under the sea baby card - GDP003

A Monday and Krista is blogging? Whaaat? As a member of the Global Design Project Team I will be sharing with on this new day and time. For now, I will be sharing every second Monday. I know that is a bit confusing ... but I just need some breathing room as I wrap up my position on the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team.

You do need to know that the rest of the Global Design Project Team WILL be blogging and sharing EVERY Monday! And more importantly, YOU can play along each Monday!

This week the challenge is baby!

When this sketch came up I had a moment of panic. I do not own a "baby" stamp set. Stamps upon stamps in my collection, not a one for babies. The closest stamp set I have is the Sea Street Stamp Set. But I think it made a fine baby card!

At the time I created this I did not have a baby to gift it to. Our very close friends, and neighbors, were pregnant and due any day. I had no idea if they were having a baby boy, but I wanted the blue color scheme for my octopus.

As luck would have it they did have a beautiful baby boy on Friday morning! This picture is us at the hospital with him, just 11 hours after he was born! Such an emotional day! Ariono looked at him and said "I love him!".

On Friday afternoon I whipped up a banner to hang above the garage door to welcome them home. My Son and I drove the ladder across the street and hung it up. When I stepped off the ladder to look at my hard work this is what I saw ...

Oops! (I used another 4 letter word but you get the idea). A quick crank through the Big Shot and I had new letters ... in the correct order.

After school my daughter and I busted out the sidewalk chalk to decorate the front driveway and sidewalk.

Our friends did come home Friday night and loved the welcome. After the kids were in bed Arturo raced over to visit and hold the baby. He got an hour of snuggles in! I was jelly!! Over the weekend all of our kids walked over to visit. They just can not get enough of this little bundle of joy. Babies just make life better. Can you image, if we could bottle the peace and love that everyone feels when they are around a baby, and use that when we are sad, angry or worried, how different our world could be?

Are you excited to see what the rest of the design team has created with the "baby" theme?? Click over to the Global Design Project site! Do not forget that we want you to play along each week!

Have you checked out the entries from followers over the last two weeks? They are amazing!

Thank-you for reading! Have a creative day!
