12 days of Christmas - Day 7 - Simple Gift Card Holder

I think my project today will speak to many of you. This time of year gets busy (to say the least). What is crazy is that we tend to say that earlier and earlier every year!

We had a crazy weekend and I am late getting my Day 7 post out (it is currently 9:30pm Monday here). Technically it is still Monday and I am still blogging but I should have done this hours ago. Does this happen to you? It is 11 pm and you signed up to bring cupcakes to school the next day? It is 5 pm and you have an appetizer you need to bring to a dinner party? Sigh.

So I needed something quick and pretty to share with you ...

The Cherry Cobbler card holder with the black ribbon band reminds me of Santa's suit.

My favorite gift card to give is a simple $5 Starbucks card. They are perfect for teachers, the UPS guy, your neighbor, a co-worker, the host of a dinner party ... me! (Just in case I am on your Christmas list).

Today is the start of the third week of the Stampin' Dolce 12 days of Christmas. Each week I am giving away some exciting blog candy. Complete the form below to be entered to win. This is the giveaway this week:

Hopefully the Christmas rush has not hit your household just yet. After all we are just starting December.

Thank-you for visiting!

Have a creative day!

12 Days Of Christmas - Day 6 - Kid Projects

We are half way through the Stampin' Dolce 12 days of Christmas? Have you missed some of the great project ideas? You can find all of the projects by searching "12 days of Christmas" or by clicking "12 days of Christmas" on the right side bar list.

Today I am sharing some projects that I will be doing with the little people in my life. I head off to a couple of schools in the neighborhood each year to create an ornament and a Christmas card.

Over the years I have learned a few things about stamping with children:
1. Do not be afraid to let them use "your toys" crafters. They can be very gentle. Just do not leave them unsupervised. We do not want to go crazy here!

2. They love punches! The circle punch on this card creates a window that I know they are going to love!

3. They love to color and feel special when they are allowed to use "grown up" markers. It is the one and only time that I share my Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers. Just teach them to be gentle with the hand and that there are two sides to color with.

4. They love bling! I added a rhinestone to the snowman hat. Now, they will be tempted to use 75 rhinestones on a card. You may wan to ration them.

5. Last, it will not look like the card you set out to create. Things will be mis-stamped, paper will be crooked ... but that makes it theirs. Keep you hands off of their project and let them do it.

This little pouch is a Christmas ornament keepsake. It is filled with fragrant spices and tied with a cinnamon stick.

This simple little jar is perfect for a tea light candle, some sweet treats or cookies ... the kids will love to think of their own gift to put inside. They could bake those no fuss Pillsbury Christmas Cookies and put them in! How cute would that be??

Of course I am offering this as a class to my customers! Bring your kids along and stamp together at this parented event!

Come back and visit the blog each Monday, Wednesday and Friday to follow the 12 days of Christmas. Do not forget to enter to win the amazing blog candy! Fill out the form at the end of this blog to be entered. Check out this weeks give away ...

12 days of Christams - DAY 5 - DIY Shabby Chic Frame

One month to go! The count down is on!

Are you a DIY'er? Want to be a DIY'er? Well you are in the right place. I love DIY!! I have a quick and simple project for you today that will wow!

You will need:
* A large frame
     I purchased this frame from IKEA. It measures 20" x 28".
* Chicken wire
* Work gloves
* Upholstery stapler and staples
* Duct Tape
* Metal snips
* Clothes pins

Remove the glass and backing from the frame. This frame had little metal tabs to hold the art work and glass inside the frame. I simply pulled those out with a pair of pliers.

Cut your chicken wire to the dimensions required. Wear work gloves to protect your hands. Staple your chicken wire to the frame.

I used Duct Tape to tape over the sharp edges of the chicken wire along the back side of my frame. This will also prevent it from scratching the wall when you hang it.

Stampin' Up! has the most darling little paper clips to hang your Christmas cards on the frame. Of course you will need these!

I can not tell you how quick this project is! You will love it so much that you will want to create two ... one to give and one to keep!

The creative opportunities are endless! You could add a seasonal banner, display children's art work, hang photographs and more! What will you use yours for? Comment below. I would love to hear.

I am offering a class in Edmonton on December 7, 2015 at 7:00pm. Come create this frame for $38!

12 days of Christmas - DAY 4 - Christmas Carnation Card GDP012

Can you believe that there are just four weeks left until the kids are on Christmas break??? We finish in December 18th this year, almost a full week before Christmas!

Today I am sharing Day 4 of the Dolce 12 days of Christmas and my Global Design Team GDP012 challenge card!

The Global Design Project challenge is CASE-ing the designer. Each month a different designer is chosen and the challenge is to create a project that emulates their style! Today the designer is the ah-mazing Brian King!
If you know Brian's work you will know that he is notorious for clean cut lines. I love all the precision and detail he adds when he creates. I hope that my card today has a little Brian magic to it ...

Christmas Cards on a Budget - I chose a non-Christmas stamp set for my creation today. I wanted to show you that you can use many of the stamp sets that you already own to create something Christmas-y. Stampin' Up! has a number of stamp sets that have a wide variety of greetings for all occasions in one set. This is perfect for the crafter on a budget. With just a couple of stamp sets you can create cards for any day of the year!

So what do you think? Did I pass? I would love to see what you will create! Visit the Global Design Project to what the rest of the design team has created and to read all of the challenge details.
