Boarderless watercolor - TGIFC53

Last week TGIF Challenges turned one! I did not blog last week with the design team (I blog every other week), so this is my first post with the new TGIF Challenges logo and signage! Do you love the fresh new look!?

Today the challenge is "Pick Your Favorites". The fine print reads "designers | challengers | winners". It it Thursday night and I am getting ready to schedule this post and I just realized the fine print. I am not sure my card will "fit" the challenge ..... I read Challenge. Not ChallengerS. I created a Mother's Day card for you.

I used the boarderless watercolor technique for this card. You stamp your image with Sahara Sand in (I stamped off first for an even lighter image) and then watercolor. Earlier in the month I shared another card with this technique. Check it out!

Click over to TGIF Challenges. The design team will be sharing their TGIFC53 creations to inspire you and our followers will be posting their projects. The challenge is open to everyone! Create, take a photo and share it on Facebook, Instagram, Splitcoast, your blog ... anywhere! Link to us and mention the TGIF Challenges.

TGIF Challenges will have a new challenge each Friday. You can find me here blogging for them next in two weeks on May 13, 2016.

Thank-you for visiting. Have a creative day!

Wedding gift wrap- Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Happy Friday my Fancy Friends! This month the Fancy Friday blog hop team is sharing "anything but cards" projects!

I could not stop with just one punch board .... I used the GIFT BOX, ENVELOPE & GIFT BAG PUNCH BOARDS with the SHINE ON DESIGNER SERIES PAPER to create three gift packages for a Bride and Groom.

The ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD created this large gift envelope (6" x 8-1/2"). You will need to use the SIMPLY SCORED to extend the score lines (the punch board is not long enough).

I think this envelope would fit a pair of panties perfectly for a great bridal shower or stagette gift!

The GIFT BOX PUNCH BOARD made this box of 4" x 4" x 2.5". It is a pretty way to gift money or a cheque for a wedding gift.

The GIFT BOX PUNCH BOARD created this tall gift bag (3-3/4" x 2" x 9"). You will need to use the SIMPLY SCORED to extend the score lines all the way to the edge of the cardstock.

Next on the Fancy Friday blog hop is Alison Okamitsu
She is wildly talented and you will love what she has created for us today!
Thank-you for visiting! Have a great weekend!

Dolce Spring Retreat Highlights

The 2016 Dolce Spring Retreat was a great success this past weekend. My studio was open all day and into the evening for crafters to come stamp and relax. I offer 4 projects for guests to create. They can pick their favorites to create and can make as many (or as few) as they like.

I love to put on this event and plan all of the details. I hope my customers leave feeling inspired and loved.

Each year I always tell myself that I am going to take more photographs to share with you. And each year I get so caught up in the event that I completely forget! Here are a few that I remembered to snap before all of my guests arrived.

A new addition to the event this year was the Swag Bag. Each guest received one of these cute little totes. Inside was Stampin' Up! products from the current Spring Stampin' Up! Catalogue. I tucked a little chocolate treat in the front pocket and added a handmade tag. The girls love these gifts!

I have this event each April and another in November. These are the two days of the year that my craft room is guaranteed to be clean! I have all of my tools lined up and ready for my guests to use. (Yes, I have three Big Shot machines! Saves waiting time).

I put a lot of love into preparing all of the project kits that are offered. All materials are cut and bundled for my guests. I have color PDF tutorials that I email to them prior to the event. This way they have copies if they ever want to create more in the future.

The food, treats and candy were out all day for everyone to enjoy. The biggest hit this year must have been warm nachos out of the oven with the trimmings. I think I gained 5 pounds by the time the day was over!

The day always goes by so quickly with all of the chatting, creating and eating. (I personally managed to create one card all day long).

Today I added the four project tutorials to my page for purchase. Click over and purchase the PDF's and you can create these projects at home!

If you live in Canada and would like to receive these project kits, with all of the materials prepared, I am happy to ship them to you! Click here to see each project kit cost. (Additional shipping charges will be applied. Contact me for more details. Kit availability is while supplies last).

Are you sad that you missed all of the Stampin' Dolce fun?? Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 19, 2016!!!

Have a creative day!

A Guy with a Heart Tattoo- GDP033

Hello my friends! Calypso Coral - one of my fave Stampin' Up! colors. It has been too long since I have used it and I was excited to see it on the Global Design Project Color Challenge this week.

I was set on using this guy from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. I am way ahead of the game designing a Father's Day card (Father's Day is June 19th this year), but I have been doing so many Birthday cards lately that I wanted a break.

After I stamped this I thought that it could also make a Mother's Day card ... write "mom" in his heart tattoo and change the greeting. (That is if your mom appreciates a little cheese with her card).

Click over to the Global Design Project. The international team will be sharing projects to inspire you today and followers will be posing their creations all week long. (You can post too!).

Thank-you for visiting. Have a creative day!
